Flight Captain scenario
Coordination under pressure
Step into the demanding world of the cockpit: an environment where every decision counts and communication must be clear, concise and flawless.
Participants prepare and fly a mission as a crew. Everything goes well… until the first surprise: a technical failure, bad weather, a sick passenger, conflicting instructions. The crew must stay in control, share the workload and decide together.

🎯
Learning objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- give a clear instruction and check it has been understood (read-back);
- prioritise actions when several problems arise at once;
- make a reasoned collective decision under time pressure;
- express disagreement or an alert factually (assertiveness);
- recognise their own stress reactions and those of the team.
👁️
What we observe
- Who speaks up, who stays silent, who decides?
- The quality of instructions: clear, checked, understood?
- How interruptions and priorities are handled
- The ability to challenge a decision
- The authority gradient: does anyone dare contradict the captain?
🔍
Debriefing focus
- Leadership: leading without carrying everything alone
- Assertiveness and the two-challenge rule
- Tunnel vision and stepping back
- Briefing: the value of two minutes before acting
